XXXTentacions Child Born Approximately 7 Months After His Murder

Seven months after XXXTentacion passed away in a robbery/shooting, the family of the rapper revealed that his girlfriend just had his child. In June of 2018, XXXTentacion was murdered in Florida at the young age of 20-years-old, leaving a legion of fans shocked and saddened by the news.

On Saturday, his mother, Cleopatra Bernard, went on her Instagram to reveal that his child officially arrived. Jenesis Sanchez, the mother of XXX’s child, was well on her way in her pregnancy when the 20-year-old rapper passed away.

She named it Gekyume Onfroy. On her Instagram Story, she wrote, “Yume has officially arrived.” According to a report from Complex.com, XXXTentacion’s mother said Gekyume was a name he created which meant, “a different state,” or “next universe of thought.”

XXXTentacion was shot and killed last year after he just purchased a new vehicle. Two similarly-aged young men stormed XXXTentacion as he was pulling out of a motorcycle dealership and shot and killed him in a botched robbery.

It isn’t clear if they knew each other or had prior connections, but TMZ reported that both of them had violent criminal records. While many were saddened by the rapper’s death, others pointed to his own violent record as well, including charges of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend.

Like Tekashi69, the hip-hop, and black community were divided on how to think of these two controversial figures, due to their talent and value to the culture, but also because of their – on occasion – morally repulsive behavior.

As most know, Tekashi69 also faced a terrible fate when he was booked on racketeering charges late last year right around the same time of the release of his new record. Interestingly, the record was the talk of the town for around a week, but no reports have discussed it since then.

Following the death of XXXTentacion, the record label on which he was signed released a few different tracks posthumously, many of which went viral almost immediately.

Like The Notorious BIG, XXXTentacion is one of the few rappers to have a track become a massive hit posthumously. In 1997, Biggie Small’s song, “Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems,” became a success following the fatal drive-by shooting.
