Will There Be a Sequel to Hocus Pocus?

Please, please say it’s true; there’s going to be a sequel to the 1993 hit Hocus Pocus? The entire world (well, a lot of people) tune in on multiple occasions to watch this hilarious and wonderful family movie on Halloween and in the weeks leading up to the holiday every single year. It’s a movie that has its own traditions now with families in which the parents grew up watching the film and now want their kids to watch it, too (that’s how we roll in this house).

News broke just recently that there might be a second movie, and that news was from Bette Midler herself! The evil Sanderson sister gave a Reddit interview in which she said she’d be so happy to have another movie and that she’d love to star in it. It didn’t take long before Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, who played Midler’s crazy witch sisters in the hit movie, agreed and too their opinions of a second movie to social media.

Fans went nuts when both stars posted online that they’re with Midler; they’d love to do a second installment of the movie, and they’re in if Disney will have them. Of course, the decision is not up to them, but if everyone in the world inundates Disney with demands, maybe it will happen? Okay, so that probably won’t work either, but we can hope.

Najimy was far more outspoken than Sarah Jessica Parker, but when an writer from Reddit asked her if she would be interested in making a sequel, she responded very simply, “Yep I’m in.” Looks like she would love to do it, and she was very short, sweet and to the point about her desire to come back as Sarah Sanderson. Here’s hoping Disney heard and decides to go forth.
