The gameplay for each level involves the pangolin rolling along the ground, collecting items relevant to the plot, like cacao beans to bake a cake or musical notes to learn a song. The player is scored based on how many items they collect in each board, with the game assigning them a star rating for each level. Though released on different days in the United States and Europe, the player still needed to play the earlier levels to access the later segments. In other countries, on other holidays, all four levels were released at the same time.
