Profile

Early Life

Kaffy grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, where she was born. Her basic and secondary educations were completed at Chrisland School in Opebi and Coker Secondary School in Orile-Iganmu.

She then briefly attended Yaba College of Technology before earning a diploma in data processing and computer science from Olabisi Onabanjo University.

She grew up wanting to work as an aeronautical engineer. Although she was born into riches, by the time she was 11, her parents had separated, and she had lived in hardship for a period.

She and her siblings lived with their mother, and as life got harder, it got harder for them to make a living. For seven consecutive months, they ate garri.

She went to the farm to provide for herself and her family. To get money, she would pick and sell vegetables.

She eventually enrolled in an aerobics class at the National Stadium to lose weight, and she was always dependable and on time. This led her aerobics instructor to designate her as the class leader whenever she was absent.

She incorporated dancing into aerobics because she is a dancer, and the class enjoyed it. They always wanted her to lead when the teacher wasn’t there.

She received a promotion and started coaching athletes. A promoter approached her for a modeling gig while I spent one of my weekends at the National Stadium for dance rehearsals and workouts.

The modeling exercise included choreography. She initially refused to perform the choreography, but she eventually consented and asked the promoter if she could perform alone.

She had no idea that there were several artists there who enjoyed her performance. This was the start of her professional life.

Career

Kaffy’s dancing career began when, during weekend dance practices and workouts at the National Stadium, she accepted an invitation from one of her admirers to perform on stage at an event.

To shatter the Guinness Book of Records for “Longest Dance Party” in 2006, Kaffy directed her dance company to dance for 55 hours and 40 minutes.

She has created cutting-edge visualization-based teaching techniques for teaching dance and dance fitness in an accelerated learning style and is currently a dance instructor.

To coach and train professional dancers and foster cultural interchange within the Nigerian dance industry, she founded “The Dance Workshop” in 2017. The 2017 Edition included AY Hollywood, the top choreographer in the country.
